New for 2019!
Baking and Pastry Pilot COMPETITION

Hi Culinary Advisers,

I am delighted to announce that North Carolina will be one of eight states to pilot the New Culinary STAR Event known as Baking & Pastry. I am attaching the draft STAR Event for Baking & Pastry Pilot and the recipes that will be used. Please read through the entire event. If you have questions, please contact me at (jljohnson2@msn.com). To answer the some glaring questions: yes, the FCCLA affiliated culinary students have to prepare all 4 recipes and the team includes 3 culinary students. I will post the equipment list, the date and location of this event which I am trying to get scheduled as the same date as the culinary competition. I will keep you posted as to the date and location once I have secured this.
You will have to register the attend the state conference just as you do with the culinary competition.

This is a great opportunity for us to be in on the ground level of a new event. The winners will travel to the national conference to compete and showcase what this new event involves.

Once again, Please contact me if you have any concerns or questions. Event and recipes are posted with this message.
Janet Johnson, NC FCCLA State Adviser
