District 2 State Officer
Gabrielle Taron, Vice President of Parliamentary Law

Picture
Welcome to the beach and farmlands of District 2! I am Gabby Taron, your 2017-2018 Vice President of Parliamentary Law from Topsail High School.

We stretch from the southern half of the east coast of North Carolina and inland through Sampson and Wayne Counties.
We have beautiful beaches, fresh water rivers, and vast farmlands.

On the coast, we have everything from fishing (obviously), blueberry farms, eastern style barbeque, water sports, sea turtles (yayyy!!), and Camp Lejeune.
One of most interesting aspects of our district is the Venus Flytraps that are indigenous to our lower, coastal counties. But once you travel west, you lose the big water aspects, and begin to see our farms growing amazing foods such as sweet potatoes, corn, peanuts, strawberries, and produce lotsssss of pork! Some other attractions include the city of Wilmington, the USS North Carolina Battleship, Fort Macon State Park, and the Cape Lookout Lighthouse.

As a district, I want to push you all to strengthen membership in each chapter and to transform your chapter into an unbreakable family. Once this is accomplished, I want to turn our district into an even bigger family.

I also want to encourage you to grow your chapter family! After all, “ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind”. So this year, we are going to make sure NO ONE gets left behind, and we will have one outstanding family reunion at our Fall Leadership! Can’t wait to see you there and at the 2018 SLC where we get to meet members from different families all across the state.

“Don’t let the waves of others drown out your own ocean song. Hold your heart as though it was a seashell, and listen to it. Listen to its music. To the whispers of your ocean within. And then swim. Swim to your own ocean music.”
          ~S.C Lane
